Are you part of a group that would like to volunteer? LakeCountyCares (LCC) does more than provide opportunities for individual volunteers. We can help your group find the right fit. If your group size is less than 20, please go to volunteer search and search by keyword "group" to identify opportunities. If you have a large group (>20) please fill out the form below and submit to LCC. A referral specialist will contact you to discuss possible options. Due to the increased administrative time necessary for researching multiple sites, there will be a nominal fee charged for groups larger than 20.
Reflections from Carmel High School Faculty Day of Service I think there should be an annual service day.
I love the concept/philosophy of having the faculty and staff serve others AND my experience was wonderful...I plan on volunteering there on weekends. Thank you SO much for organizing this "out of the box" experience! It has been so long since I did service work that I forgot how important and humbling it is...also, doing the work gave me a good perspective of how my students feel working towards completing their 40 hours!
I felt grateful that I had the opportunity to make someone's life a bit more fulfilled, useful because I actually be came personally involved …To me it meant more than "donating" funds since I could be personally involved.
It definitely makes me want to volunteer! Thanks for the opportunity!!!
Groups The Lake Forest College Football Team held their "Community Service Day" volunteering at various local organizations including Elawa Farm, Lake Bluff Open Lands, Ragdale and CROYA. Our boys had a great time and ended up feeling much more connected to the community. They especially enjoyed the reptiles at the Wildlife Discovery Center! Thanks for organizing this very worthwhile day of giving back. Jim, Lake Forest College Football Team
Students and families from Lake Forest College participated in our workday as part of the college's International Day of Service. Thanks to the Volunteer Center of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff (LCC) for connecting us to this remarkable initiative. Rebecca, Heller Nature Center
For the past 4 years, the Men's Club at Lake Forest High School has helped spread chopped leaves on all the beds in the Garden at Elawa for a winter mulch. They have also provided invaluable assistance at the Garden at Elawa's annual Christmas market. We could not manage without the help of the Men's Club for these two important jobs. Marion, Garden at Elawa Farm, Lake Forest
